Thank you again so much, Harriet, for your always thoughtful posts. It is so hard for me to look at what’s happening there. I appreciate your courage and your eyes that are wide open. I commit to continue exploring this difficult terrain with you.
A group of Orthodox rabbis has finally issued a call for Israel to feed the people of Gaza. I can't find a link to the original document, but it's all over the Jewish news this morning. The Jewish Telegraphic agency has this comment:
"The signatories are largely drawn from the liberal edge of Modern Orthodoxy, and relatively few hold congregational roles."
So the dam holding back criticism of Israel, from within the Orthodox community, is starting to leak.
Thank you for your sanity.
(Sorry for not linking directly to the "complexity of the situation", but I'm sure readers of this blog can see its relevance.)
Kol hakavod in your nuanced, thoughtful , compassionate and wise postings.
תודה רבה רבה!

I am with you. I have learned how much is lost in ignoring the human experience of others who
Might seem different than
Myself. It
Moves me in ways i cant imagine most would feel and thats what worries me the most.
